A comprehensive guide to the development and use of Common Worship services.

Common Worship Today is a comprehensive illustrated guide, both for worship leaders and worshippers, exploring the use of the Common Worship services and the historical background and underlying thinking which led to their production.

It was written by the Group for the Renewal of Worship (GROW), which is responsible for the Worship series of Grove booklets and which produced a similar volume, Anglican Worship Today , to accompany The Alternative Service Book 1980.

This new study edition of Common Worship Today brings the wealth of information in the original volume to a new audience. The text has been thoroughly revised, bringing it fully up to date with recent additions to the Common Worship family, including New Patterns for Worship , Daily Prayer , Christian Initiation (with its material for Rites on the Way and Reconciliation and Restoration), Times and Seasons , and the ordination services.

Though designed to be an affordable introduction to Anglican liturgy for those training for lay or ordained ministries within the Church of England, the book will be of interest to all those who wish to grow in their understanding of worship, and of Common Worship in particular.

A parallel study module forms part of both the CCS and the DipHE programmes or may be studied by individuals or groups as part of ministry training.
